My personal view (and it is just that), is that I'm only an Assistant Builder when helping other Builders construct their dreams or playing with kits that require the same tools and create similar components, but I will only become a Builder when I've hit my first rivet in the aluminium I hope to one day launch into the air.
I'm ecstatic to write I've taken the first step towards that momentous occasion as the first piece of the puzzle is currently being prepared to be shipped from Van's Aircraft, Oregon, USA.
True, I've been mentally preparing for 'the beginning' for almost a decade now: creating the tool collection; reading every blog/builder's log I could find; visiting and even joining an Aviation Club I couldn't really participate in properly without my own plane, but I have met a few really good people with a similar passion; visiting Oshkosh - I can't believe it was sooooo long ago(2013) so I must go again soon.
For now, I can prepare the workshop for the arrival of the new hobby - one I expect to consume a lot of time over the next 3-5 years.
